Step 1 Get Your Measurements Right – Everything Else Depends on This

A stretch tablecloth works by tension – it’s cut slightly smaller than the table’s actual dimensions so the spandex pulls taut when fitted. This means your measurements need to reflect the table itself, not the desired finished size. We handle the tension calculation – just send us the actual table dimensions.

What to measure:

• Length (L) – the longer dimension of the tabletop
• Width (W) – the shorter dimension of the tabletop
• Height (H) – floor to tabletop surface

Just choose these three numbers on the custom stretch tablecloth product page. Do not add drop allowances – we calculate those into the pattern.

Measuring tips for non-standard tables:

Counter-height tables (34″–36″ H): – The extra height means more fabric on the sides. A standard 29″H stretch cover fitted to a 34″H table will bunch below the tabletop rather than pulling taut to the floor. Always use the actual height.

Bar-height tables (40″–42″ H): – Common at networking and cocktail events. At this height, the side panels become the most visible part of the cover – worth selecting Premium Spandex for the cleanest drape at a taller dimension.

Slightly-off standard tables: – Some folding tables run 31″ or 32″ wide rather than the standard 30″. A standard stretch cover on a wider table won’t pull taut correctly and will look loose. If your table is even an inch or two outside standard, custom is the right call.

Custom display furniture: – Branded kiosks, reception counters, and built-in display units often have irregular dimensions. Measure the actual surface you’re covering, not the nearest standard size.

Rounded or angled corners: – Standard stretch covers assume square corners. If your table has significantly rounded corners, note this at checkout – it may affect how the cover sits at the corners.

Every custom stretch order is reviewed during proofing. If your measurements produce a pattern that looks unusual – too narrow, too wide, or proportionally off for a typical table – we’ll contact you before cutting.

Step 2 Choose Your Back Coverage Style

• 3 Sided Open Back: No back panel – maximum access underneath, fastest on and off
• 4 Sided Closed Back: Fully enclosed on all sides – cleanest look from every direction
• 4 Sided Closed Back with Zipperr: Fully enclosed with a discreet zipper – closed appearance with access when needed

For non-standard table sizes, back style matters more than it might seem. On a wider or taller custom table, a closed back requires more fabric to cover correctly – worth factoring into your budget when configuring. If in doubt, Open Back is always the simplest and most cost-effective choice.

Step 3 Pick Your Fabric Marterial

240g Heavy Spandex is particularly worth considering for custom orders at unusual dimensions. Heavier spandex holds its tension more evenly across non-standard proportions, especially on wider or taller tables where cheaper fabrics can look uneven.
